Aerator/filter is the last part that water flows out from faucet. Sometimes you will feel the water flow become slow or small over times or the water sprays uneven. That is the indicator reminds you to replace or clean the aerator/filter. These filters are important to use on faucets from which you run water to drink, brush your teeth or cook.

To clean a faucet aerator, please follow these steps:

-Unscrew the aerator/filter by hand (most of them). If it is tight, you could use a wrench. But please remember to protect the surface/cover of item.

- Soak the aerator in a glass of vinegar to loosen the minerals. And then use the toothbrush to scrub out the inside of the aerator.

Tip: Be sure to use this toothbrush for cleaning in the future and not for brushing your teeth!

-If your aerator is composed of several parts – please make sure you remember the order of the parts as you need to put them together again. Scrub all of the pieces to get them clean.

-Rinse everything very well. Run water through the aerator screen, holding it right side up and upside down.

Tip: please cover the sink drain to prevent small parts from falling down the drain

-Once the parts are cleaned well, please put them back and reattach the aerator to the faucet.

Remember to check faucet aerator in a certain period.

Besides cleaning aerator, sometimes we will encounter the problem of rusty aerator. That is really dangerous. Each drop of water is polluted by rusty aerator. Under this circumstance, you’d better to change the aerator/filter if the part could be replaced. If you have one could not be replaced, you need to replace whole spray head even the whole faucet.

Hope water you use is clean and safe.
