Faucets and sinks are combinations that could not be separated. When you consider which types of faucets to buy, you need to keep sinks in mind too. It is decided by your bathroom size, counter space and overall style of bathroom. According to their installation ways and place, sinks could be divided into 7 types roughly.

1.Wall-Mounted Sinks

As its name said, this kind of sink is supported by wall which does not require a vanity base, countertop, or legs. It is ideal for small bathroom which will not use up any floor space. It could also be installed in any height.

2.Top Mount Sinks

It is also known as self-rimming and drop-in sinks. They are sinks which be placed into a cutout in the top of countertop or vanity and have a rolled and finished rim sits above the countertop and keep it in place. The advantage is that this type of sink could be put into any place without altering your counter top again.

3.Undermount Sinks

By comparing with top mount sinks, undermount sinks are more challenging. They need to be installed from underneath a solid surface countertop. The shape, size of sink and cutout of countertop are customized specifically to make them perfectly match. But they offer smooth countertop surface.

4.Vessel Sinks

Vessel sink is like a shape of bowl sitting on the top of countertop. They do not require undermount installation and are higher than other types which might prevent from wetting.

But they take up more countertop space. And the dirt in the bottom of sink would be visible easily and you need more time to clean it.

5.Pedestal Sinks

Pedestal sinks are freestanding sinks that are supported by a small column that sits beneath the sink. They are ideal for small guest bathrooms which do not require much floor space and do not need storage space.

6.Console Sinks

This style is a cross between a wall-mounted sink and a pedestal sink. This sink is not only mounted in the wall but also supported by two or four legs. They’re like sinks set on tables. Like wall mounted sinks and pedestal sinks, console sinks do not have storage space either.

7.Bathroom Vanity Top Sinks

Bathroom vanity top sinks, again, fit their name. They are designed to be used with vanity. If you want to purchase a bathroom vanity top sink, you either buy its coordinating vanity or use the base you already have but please pay attention that the size should be matched. We don’t suggest this kind of sink as it occupies much space and is hard to find a replacement if any accident happens.
